Guardsquare Recognized by Ernst & Young, BVA and Deloitte for Outstanding Growth, Performance and Promise

We’re excited (and humbled!) to have been recently named Ernst & Young’s ‘Scale-up of the Year’ 2019 and Belgian Venture Association (BVA)’s ‘Growth company of the year’ 2019 for our mobile app security solutions for Android and iOS! Most recently, we were recognized by Deloitte as a top 10 company among their 2019 Deloitte Fast 50 Belgium.

While we’ve always been incredibly proud that ProGuard, DexGuard and iXGuard are protecting billions of mobile apps and hundreds of customers with our innovative solutions, it feels pretty special to be recognized by organizations like EY, BVA, and Deloitte.

The prestigious ‘Scale-up van het Jaar’ (‘Scale-Up of the Year’) award, organized and presented by Ernst & Young Belgium, is given by the Flemish government in recognition and celebration of Belgian-based companies with top performance, growth, innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship. Eligible companies are in the growth and development stage, have a minimum of 30 employees, and are internationally-oriented.

The winner and finalists of this year’s edition of EY Belgium’s ‘Scale-up of the Year’ were selected by a jury comprised of professionals from academia and the government sector as well as members with a specific technological background and former winners of Promising Enterprise of the Year who have meanwhile scaled up themselves, such as Ontoforce, Destiny and Skyline Communications.

It was an honor to have been in the running this year alongside fellow SaaS scale-ups Silverfin, and Lansweeper and digital agency scale-up Intracto.

Growth Markets Leader for EY Belgium, Stefan Olivier, said: “Guardsquare shows that Flemish companies can be toppers, also internationally. After all, the Leuven company was ‘born global’ from day one. If the company continues to develop in the same way, it might become a favorite in the future to win the ‘Company of the Year®’ title”.

BVA’s ‘Growth Company of the Year’ award is given to “high-performing Belgian companies backed by a private equity firm [or venture capital investor]..., that is looking to expand and improve operations or enter new markets in order to accelerate its growth”. BVA’s ‘Growth Company of the Year’ is part of a series of BVA Private Equity & Venture Capital Awards promoting private equity support of Belgian businesses. 

A few weeks ago, Guardsquare was highlighted as a top 10 organization in Deloitte’s 2019 Technology Fast 50 Belgium list. Deloitte’s Technology Fast competitions annually recognize the fastest growing and most innovative technology companies. In 2018, Guardsquare ranked first among Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Belgium and was in the top 20 of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA.
