We are proud to announce the release of DexGuard 8.0. The latest version of DexGuard contains improvements that extend the functionality of the software and increase its usability. The most notable updates are:
- Annotation-based configuration. It is now possible to apply certain configurations directly in the source code using annotations. These configurations are complementary to the existing rules in configuration files such as dexguard-project.txt.
- Encryption of resource- and meta-data strings. New configuration settings have been added to support the encryption of resource strings and meta-data values.
- Improved support for asset and native library encryption. DexGuard can now encrypt asset files and native libraries that are loaded via a variable string, dependent native libraries and native libraries loaded via JNA.
- Improved statistics and logging. New settings have been added to display detailed statistics on package level as well as details about encrypted content (strings, classes, …).
- Support for the latest development tools. Version 8.0 adds compatibility for the latest development tools, including Android Studio 2.3, Android Gradle plugin 2.3.0 and Android Maven plugin 4.4.3.
